CUSB Bank named a Six-Time Top Iowa Workplace

CUSB Bank is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of Iowa’s Top Workplaces by the Des Moines Register. The announcement was made in the Des Moines Register’s publication on Sunday, Sept. 25. This is the sixth time for this designation, being named a Top Iowa Workplace in 2011, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022.

Mike Drees, President of CUSB Bank, said, “CUSB Bank is very proud to be named as one of the top workplaces in the state of Iowa for the sixth time. The designation is special because it is determined by the results of a survey of CUSB Bank’s own employees. We feel this designation is a reflection of CUSB Bank striving to have a culture built on communication, trust, collective responsibility, and caring. If we’re living that culture and taking care of our employees, they’ll be proud of where they work and that pride will be reflected in how they serve our valued customers.”

The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by Energage, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. Energage conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with 40 major publishing partners across the United States.

CUSB Bank’s employees completed a survey that asked them about the direction of the bank, work conditions, career development, execution, managers, pay, and benefits. CUSB Bank has 105 employees across their seven locations in Cresco, Ridgeway, Lime Springs, Osage, Charles City, Waverly, and Shell Rock.

Drees said, “As the workplace has changed over the last couple of years we have worked hard to enhance communication and empower our employees to meet the needs of our customers and communities. Whenever possible we try to provide flexibility so employees can find their own ‘work-life balance’. Being named again as a Top Workplace in the state of Iowa by our employees is hopefully a good indication that we are continuing in the right direction. CUSB Bank was established 134 years ago on strong values and ethics and those values are fundamental to our employee selection and succession because we know our customers want to do business with people they trust and who care about their financial needs.”
